FLOW-3D has a very long experience in this, helping you in simulating any flow regime, from subsonic till hypersonic regimes, and various sloshing conditions.
FLOW-3D is a cfd software born in Los Alamos laboratories under the hands of the inventor of the VOF method, today agreed as the best numberical method for tracking free surface. Thanks to this, FLOW-3D has superior capabilities in simulating free surface transient flows, like liquid propellant motion, in a complex moving environment.
With the TruVOF (evolution of the VOF method) and a time-marching technique, simulations are fast and accurate, especially when solving transient problems.

Simulation provides in output several quantities of interest for aerospace engineers:
    • pressure and velocity value in every cell location at every time-frame
    • temperature field in every cell location at every time-frame
    • particle dynamics
    • streamlines seeding
    • vorticity and stagnation zones
    • local shear stress
    • rigid body motion dynamics
    • electric charge distribution
    • CG dynamic of the water mass
    • forces produced by water mass on the container

Additionally, users can add in the simulation a very rich multi-physics, like: multiple solid moving objects, deformable components, evaporation/condensation phenomena, electrically charged particles, etc.

Usually in aerospace engineering it is often used to perform the optimization of your design, working with any mathematical model.
