XC Engineering has a long experience in CFD analysis for the aerospace industry. This due to its staff, mainly composed by aerospace engineers with a strong background on numerical calculation.

For this industry, XC Engineering has elected as main analysis tool the software FLOW-3D, the excellence for transient and free surface flows, which use for services and represent for selling over the Italian and France countries.

Typical applications where FLOW-3D shows its peculiarities are: sloshing, zero gravity fluid dynamics, multi-phase fluids, elastic membranes, but also nozzles in subsonic and supersonic conditions, fluid structure interactions, transient analysis. In order to represent correctly these phenomena it is necessary to use a multi-physical software, as FLOW-3D is, that takes into account for surface tension, multi-body dynamics, phase change, and a state of the art free-surface algorithm.

The new frontiers of the numerical simulations aloud to have CFD and structural analysis in the same calculation, in a fully coupled environment, and to automatically research for the optimal configuration: for example the use of IOSO and FLOW-3D effectively respond to these needs, giving an aid to engineers to develop future Technologies.
