XC Engineering, through the use of the software that represents, is able to virtually reproduce the movement of any river flow. What apparently seems chaotic, like turbulence, vortexes, waves, etc… in practice it can be mathematically forecasted through the use of ad hoc software. One of these is FLOW-3D.
No experimental analysis using small-scale models, but a powerful software that reproduce the reality in an accurate way, on a common desktop monitor.
POLLUTANT TRACKING
It is possible to add to river flows tracers, pollutant quantities, or wastewater, to monitor their movement along the time and their environmental impact, intervening in the right places with the right intensity.
FLOW-3D also includes a heat transfer module, to represent convective motions and thermal gradients in a fully 3D environment.
SEDIMENT SCOUR
The software permits the simulation of river-bed scour, through a specific module. This module can treat multiple sediment species, and take into account for bed rolling phenomena, lift and angles of repose.
CIVIL STRUCTURE INTERACTION
The virtual simulation can represents catastrophic phenomena, like floods or large waves, or preview the effects of civil structures like pier bridge and fish passages.
